The Philippine Coast Guard and Philippine Coast Guard – Auxiliary together with WPS held the first block screening of the documentary for PCG and PCGA personnel on August 7, 2025. This marked an important milestone for the PCG as the documentary exposes the realities they face in the continuing territorial dispute in the West Philippine Sea. By immortalizing the lived experiences of the PCG personnel in the face of growing maritime instability, the film builds on the advocacy for transparency in the West Philippine Sea.

In collaboration with the National Youth Commission and the Philippine Information Agency, a screening was held on August 8 for youth leaders and information specialists were to gain a compelling glimpse on the realities of Filipino fisherfolk as they navigate the era of increasing maritime challenges within our maritime zones. The message strongly resonates with the younger generationβ€”as bearers of change, they are called upon to take part in protecting the country’s sovereignty.

On August 9, with the help of the Department of Education, public school teachers and DEPED personnel gathered to watch the enthralling documentary. Recognizing the crucial role educators play in shaping the minds of the young generation, the film provided an accurate, raw, and unfiltered look at the issues of the West Philippine Sea to the people that bridges the gap between information and education.

The final screening, held on August 17, was dedicated to members of the diplomatic community and several distinguished guests. The initiative hopes of inspiring, cultivating, and fostering dialogue and action on the pressing issues surrounding the West Philippine Sea. The presence of our guests underscored the importance of being active partners in shedding light on stories of the coastal communities whose lives are intertwined with the West Philippine Sea, while also drawing attention to the urgent issues of maritime security and sovereignty.

The series of block screening served as a powerful platform to raise awareness, deepen understanding, and encourage collective action on the issues surrounding the West Philippine Sea. By involving different sectors of society in conversations, and utilizing mainstream media to broaden the reach of the film’s message, the project strongly supports and builds on the continuing transparency initiatives in the West Philippine Sea.
